Supporting healthy caregiving

To have a better understanding of care needs of a person recovering from injury and to prepare you for hands-on training, we encourage caregivers to watch the videos and consult related reference materials in this section. Please take notes and write your questions down. Reach out to your case manager and nurse educator to address your questions.

Accessing Shepherd Center resources

The resources in this section are intended solely for family members and friends that may assist in providing for care at home for patients treated at Shepherd Center. Any other use without Shepherd Center’s express written permission is strictly prohibited.

Some materials may require a password for access. Ask your caregiving team for this information.

Precautions

If at any time during exercise you experience chest pain, headache, and/or difficulty breathing, stop performing the exercise and contact your health care provider and/or seek medical attention.

Your therapist or provider will recommend exercises. If you have had a change in physical or medical status since working with your therapist, please contact your current medical provider before resuming your exercise program.
